FedEx Truck Crash Snarls Traffic In North Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A serious crash involving a jackknifed FedEx truck shut down much of Interstate-35W in north Fort Worth early Monday morning. It happened at around 2:30 a.m. in the highway's southbound lanes, just south of Alliance Gateway Freeway.
Details surrounding the crash are still under investigation. The driver of the FedEx big rig somehow lost control of the vehicle and landed on top of the interstate's center barricade. Crews called in two tow trucks to help pull the rig off of the barrier wall and away from the scene.
Officials have not said if the truck's driver was injured during this incident.
The crash shut down all northbound lanes of the highway and two lanes on the southbound side, leaving only one lane getting by for travelers heading into downtown Fort Worth. Most of interstate is now open once again, but a few lanes are still closed, and traffic continues to be slow as the previous backup unwinds.
Police expect that the highway will not be completely open until after Monday morning's rush hour.
