FC Dallas Sends Shea To Train In Great Britain
FRISCO (AP) - FC Dallas says it will send midfielder Brek Shea to Great Britain to spend December training with Arsenal FC of the English Premier League.
A statement posted on the FC Dallas website says Shea will train with Arsenal after joining the U.S. national soccer team for two November friendlies against France and Slovenia.
Afterward, he'll travel to the Gunners' training center in suburban London for training. The FC Dallas statement says Arsenal was chosen for Shea's training based on strong ties between the two clubs.
In 2011, Shea scored 11 goals and four assists in 30 MLS games for FC Dallas. A league-leading five of the 21-year-old Texan's goals were game-winners, along with two game-winning assists.
