FRISCO (Sports Network) - FC Dallas recalled Brazilian midfielder Jackson from his loan to Cruzeiro on Thursday.

The 23-year-old Jackson originally joined Dallas in August of 2010, and played 40 combined regular-season matches over the second half of 2010 and the entire 2011 season.

"We really felt it was important we strengthen our depth in the midfield as much as possible," said FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman. "Jackson wanted to come back to Dallas. He's a player who knows our system and our players, and I expect his transition back into MLS will be very smooth."

Jackson played 12 matches in his first season in MLS, and started all four for the club in the playoffs as they reached the MLS Cup final. He played 28 games in league play last season and had four goals and two assists.

He was loaned to Brazil's Cruzeiro in January, but rejoins FC Dallas just five matches into the MLS season.

Dallas hosts the Montreal Impact on Saturday.
