FBI Seeks Help Identifying Violent Bank Robbers
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying several men responsible for increasingly aggressive armed bank robberies over the past year.
Investigators say the robberies share some similar characteristics. Two or three men enter the bank and verbally demand cash. Once they receive the money the robbers exit the bank and leave the scene in a vehicle driven by an accomplice. Each vehicle is then abandoned near the bank and determined to have been reported stolen.
Each of the robbers wears long pants, long sleeved shirts, gloves, hoodies or baseball-style caps and full masks or bandannas over their faces. They are described as black males, in their 20s or 30s, and range from approximately 5'7" to 6'0" tall. Two of the suspects have a thin build and one is heavyset.
To date, no one has been seriously injured but the suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Dallas FBI and local law enforcement officials say the series of robberies began on July 26, 2013, and the most recent occurred on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at ViewPoint Bank on South Park Boulevard in Grapevine.
A reward may be available for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the individuals. Anyone with information is asked to call the Dallas FBI at (972) 559-5000 or their local police department.
