Fatal Crash Snarls Traffic In Fort Worth
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A car crash in Fort Worth on Thursday morning left one person dead and another person hurt, and shut down a major roadway just before rush hour traffic.
The crash happened at about 5:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the South Freeway, just south of Seminary Drive. MedStar officials at the scene said that a white four-door car rolled over, and Sharron Neal with the Fort Worth Police Department said that the car had struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was found dead in the middle of the highway. The driver of the car was injured during the crash and taken to a nearby hospital. The driver is expected to be okay.
Police closed the freeway at Ripy Street and forced all traffic onto the access road. The Texas Department of Transportation said that the roadway would be shut down throughout most of the morning.
Officials have not yet said what may have caused this crash, or how many vehicles were involved.
