Drunk Driver Kills Woman, Tries To Flee
FARMERS BRANCH (CBSDFW.COM) -A Farmers Branch woman is dead after the car she was a passenger in was struck by an intoxicated driver after he had already hit into two other vehicles.
The accident happened at the corner of Valwood Parkway and Webb Chapel Road.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Rosanely Frire, and she was pronounced dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
The driver of the car struck, was injured, but is expected to survive. Police have not released her name.
The driver responsible for the accident has been identified by police as 27-year-old Adam G. Quiros.
The wreckage almost ended up in the backyard of Farmers Branch resident Jeff Binford.
"We were watching TV and we heard the noise it was more than what we normally here and my wife said that's a bad wreck, " says Binford.
"We heard a loud pound. It was very loud."
Neighbor Silvia Martinez says when she came outside, she saw Quiros running away from the scene.
"He was bloody from his face, it was very scary for neighbors. He's stumbling I would assume he's hurt or injured," says Martinez.
According to police Quiros tried to flee the scene of a previous accident in Carrolton where he hit two cars. Three people suffered minor injuries in those crashes.
Quiros also tried to flee from the Farmers Branch accident on foot. He came back to the car and was arrested by police. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Witnesses say they believe Quiros was trying retrieve his belongings and information from his car.
Quiros faces charges including Failure to Stop & Render Aid, DWI, and Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon. He's now in the Dallas County Jail.
