Fans Should Arrive Early For Cowboys Home Opener
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Are you ready for football? The Dallas Cowboys are set to play their season home opener against the Washington Redskins on Monday night. Not only is this an important divisional matchup, but the game has gotten some extra attention. Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall stated that he will be targeting the injured ribs of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Romo is going to have added protection on those hurting ribs, and Cowboys Stadium will have some added protection at the gates. The NFL has called for new security measures at stadium doors, including more fan pat-downs.
In the past, security guards only checked fans from the waist up to look for weapons and alcohol. Now, guards are required to pat down all fans from the ankles up. That is certain to create longer lines outside the stadium before the game gets underway.
Fans with tickets to Monday night's game will probably want to arrive at the stadium early to prepare for these new security procedures. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the Cowboys organization is encouraging fans to show up as early as possible. Parking lots open at 3:30 p.m. to give fans enough time to find a parking spot, tailgate and queue up to get inside. Stadium plazas and gates open at 5:30 p.m.
There have been no changes to game day traffic plans in Arlington around the stadium.
