Family Members Grieving After 2 Friends Killed In Garland Crash

GARLAND (CBS 11) — Friends and family are grieving after an overnight crash killed two friends in Garland.
Saturday night you could still see the debris and the impact of the crash after, investigators said, 21-year-old Martinez Henriquez, known by his friends as Moisses, was driving east in a Honda when he ran a stop sign. It happened in the 3900 block of Lawler Road.
When Aminta Barrera got the call at 4 a.m. from her sister, she didn't know what to think.
"I couldn't believe it. I thought she was just calling me for a fight or something that I wish when I got here that it was something like that, not when she gave me the news. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it," Barrera said.
Barrera's niece, 21-year-old Mary Ann Garcia, was a passenger in her friend Martinez Henriquez's Honda Civic when investigators say he failed to stop at the intersection of Lawler and Yale. The two collided with a Toyota that was driving northbound on Yale. The impact killed both Henriquez and Garcia.
"She was happy to be around with all the time, fun, crazy, big heart. She had a big heart," Barrera said.
"She cared about everybody, and she knows everybody loved her," Garcia's brother, Junior Garcia, added.
The driver of the Toyota and another passenger in the Honda were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Now Garcia's family struggles to cope with the loss.
"Stay together. Stay strong for each other. Support each other. That's all we can do," Barrera said.
Friends and family have set up a GoFundMe account for donations.
