Ezekiel Elliott Passes Tony Dorsett For Cowboys Rookie Rushing Record

Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the many storylines for the Dallas Cowboys this season. Right from week one, Elliott has found a way to impress just about every game and make clutch plays. Early in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens, Elliott passed hall-of-fame inductee Tony Dorsett for the top of the Cowboys rookie rushing record.
Dorsett set the record back in 1977 and accumulated 1,007 rushing yards. 39 years later, Elliott has broken that record with the rest of this game and six more games remaining on the season. Because of the Cowboys' incredible 8-1 record, he will have a chance to do more damage in the playoffs as well.
Heading into today's game, Elliott had 1,005 rushing yards in nine games and picking up nine touchdowns along the way as well. He has also been dynamic in the passing game teaming up with fellow rookie Dak Prescott for 18 receptions, 250 yards and a receiving touchdown.
The former Ohio State product was given a message of encouragement by Dorsett earlier this week where Dorsett revealed that he's a big fan of Elliott's and is rooting for him.
The Cowboys are currently in the midst of a heated matchup with the Baltimore Ravens who sit atop the AFC North standings at 5-4. Both teams still have plenty to play for and this game will be a good chance for the Cowboys to keep the ball rolling.
