Ex-Con Convicted Of Raping, Trying To Sell 12-Year-Old For Sex
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - It took a Fort Worth jury just 19 minutes to convict an ex-con of raping a 12-year-old girl and then trying to sell her for sex.
Ricky Davis has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 and trafficking a person under 18.
Prosecutors say Davis knew the 12-year-old since she was a baby and was an uncle like figure in her life.
The child spent the night at Davis' home with his live-in girlfriend and daughter -- and when the two were home alone, he raped her, according to prosecutors.
He then took her to a bar, telling her she was "going to make him some money," and attempted to sell sex with her for $50.
One of the men who heard Davis trying to sell sex with the child, rescued her from the car, called police and hid her until they arrived.
Davis, a gang member, has been convicted of 12 other crimes, including robbery, burglary and assault, among others.
