FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Oklahoma have arrested a registered sex offender who escaped from a Fort Worth halfway house earlier this week. Charles Sprague was taken into custody Friday morning at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville.

Sprague had earlier been referred to as a "violent sexual predator" by authorities. He slipped away from the Fort Worth facility, located in the 600 block of North Henderson Street, at around 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday. He then somehow cut off an eletronic tracking device which the law requires him to wear at all times.

The 44-year-old man has "an extensive criminal history" that includes aggravated kidnapping. In fact, officials in North Richland Hills have been investigating a possible connection between Sprague and a kidnapping that took place in their city on Wednesday afternoon.

A woman was taken in her car in North Richland Hills, and left behind an abandoned building while the armed suspect fled in that vehicle. Police are still investigating this case after Sprague's arrest, and his possible connection.

There had been a sighting of Sprague late Wednesday at the Austin Street Shelter in Dallas. He was reportedly driving a different car than the one that was stolen in North Richland Hills.

Authorities finally caught up with Sprague at the Oklahoma casino at about 9:45 a.m. on Friday morning. He was taken into custody without incident.
