Employees Run Background Check On Boss; Lose Jobs

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – One employee's decision at the now shuttered Wickers Public House in Plano cost her and 24 co-workers their jobs and landed their boss in jail.
"It's a call we were scared to make but it had to happen," said Audreia Meyer, who used to work at the sport's bar known for its soccer watching parties.
Meyer called police after discovering that her boss, Keith Mohundro was wanted in San Antonio for an alleged Ponzi scheme that left investors in a phony tropical resort high and dry. He bought the sports bar two months ago promising changes. But his changes weren't what former employees Jennifer Evans and Haille Wright had in mind.
"I have not received check in at least a month," said Evans.
In fact, it was the bouncing checks that raised suspicion for Meyer and led her to check Mohundro background.
"And there it was on rip off report," said Meyer.
Plano Police found Mohundro living in a motel after she turned him in.
"Our officers went over there made contact and place him under arrest," said Plano police spokesman Officer Dave Tilley.
Mohundro was taken to jail and transferred to San Antonio where he posted bond. After
Wickers Public House closed, Meyer's former coworkers rallied around her.
"The three of us of been like a Three Musketeers looking for jobs and happy that we had each other," said Meyer.
