Emergency Crews Still Busy Despite Snow Blowing Away

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - North Texas roads looked much better the day after Christmas than they did just 24 hours earlier.  But emergency crews and truck drivers are among the busy workers who know – until the ice in the area is gone – they'll have a lot to do out there.

CBS 11's Elizabeth Dinh has more from Tarrant County:

With just a few locations making it up to 32 degrees Wednesday, icy spots will continue to be a problem on some of the area roadways. Thursday.

Some very slick spots remain on Highway 380 in both directions between Denton and Frisco among other spots.

After all the precipitation that fell on Christmas day, that part of the area only warmed into the upper 20's, so there has been very little melting. As a result, the sanding crews have been working overtime.

CBS 11's Stephanie Lucero reports from Collin County:

TxDOT's Mark Pettit says they anticipated re-freezing, which means more icy spots for Thursday's commute.  Many spots will remain treacherous throughout the commute, so be extremely careful - especially on the bridges and overpasses.
