FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Students at a Fort Worth elementary school will be greeted by grief counselors Tuesday after one of their classmates was violently murdered over the long Labor Day weekend.
Police discovered Jorge Flores and his 11-year-old daughter, Angela, dead in their home on Sunday morning. Investigators are calling this a suspected murder-suicide. The girl was visiting her father over the weekend. Authorities said that Flores recently separated from the girl's mother.
The father and daughter were both found in a bedroom with gunshot wounds. There are no other suspects in this case. Loved ones are left wondering what happened in those final moments.
Now, the child's friends and teachers at Glen Park Elementary School in Fort Worth will meet with grief counselors to try and cope with the unexpected loss. The Fort Worth Independent School District said that the counselors will remain on campus as long as they are needed.
