Elderly Woman Robbed In NorthPark Center Parking Lot
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police are looking for a gunman who robbed an elderly woman in the parking lot of a popular mall Tuesday.
The 77-year-old woman, who asked not to be identified, was walking to her car in a parking lot at Dallas' NorthPark Center Tuesday night when she heard a voice and felt the barrel of a gun against the back of her head.
"I ran over there for some boots," says the woman, "he said do not move don't turn around very gently raise your arms and let me have that pretty little fur."
The armed robber demanded the woman's 14-carat diamond ring, valued at $65,000 and fur coat worth about $22,000. "I was very shook last night, I'm much better now, I just think I'll be more cautious," says the woman.
Dallas Police are hoping the crime was captured by security cameras. "He very easily could have seen her inside the mall wearing the fancy jewelry and the mink coat and followed her until there was no one around," says Dallas Police Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse.
The victim was unable to see the gunman or his vehicle so police have no suspect information.
