FC Dallas Defender Edward Sidelined 6-9 Months

FRISCO (AP) FC Dallas defender Edson Edward will miss most if not all of the Major League Soccer season following surgery for torn ligaments in his right knee.

Edward was injured during an indoor training session on Feb. 3, the team said Wednesday.
Dr. Tarek Souryal operated on Tuesday. He reconstructed the anterior cruciate ligament and repaired the lateral collateral ligament.

FC Dallas said Edward's recovery is expected to take six-to-nine months.
