East-Side Expansion Of George Bush Tollway Opens
GARLAND (AP) - A tollway extension in North Texas has opened as a new east-side link to Interstate-30.
The North Texas Tollway Authority late Wednesday opened the President George Bush Turnpike eastern extension from northwest Garland.
Construction on the $958 million project began in the summer of 2008.
NTTA says the nearly 10-mile eastern extension is part of the outer loop around Dallas and its suburbs. The corridor runs through Garland, Sachse and Rowlett.
