The USGS database for earthquakes in the United States dates back to 1974.

If you drew a circle around the DFW Airport 50 miles in radius (pretty much all of north Texas) you would find a total of 127 quakes 1.6 or stronger during that time period (1974-today or 41 years).

Before Oct.30, 2008 there was one earthquake recorded; it was just SE of Gainesville in Cooke Co, just 1 miles WSW of Lake Kiowa.

All the others occurred from Oct. 30th, 2008 to the present.

24 (19%) of them 3.0 or stronger

59 (46%) of them between 2.5-2.9

42 (33%) of them 2.0 – 2.4

2 of them below 1.9

The strongest quakes registered 3.6, the one yesterday and two in Azle last year:

2013-12-08T06:10:04.010Z
3.6
3km WNW of Azle, Texas
2013-11-20T00:40:34.950Z
3.6
1km NNW of Azle, Texas

104 of the 127 (82%) of the quakes had a depth of 4.9 to 5.1 KM below the surface (about 3 miles or 16,400ft below)

Here is a map of all the 127 quakes. The ones in orange are the ones over the last 36 hours in Irving. The other cluster to the west occurred in Azle in 2003. The solitary dot north is the sole quake that occurred from 1974-2008.
