Early Morning Quake Shakes North Texas

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - An early morning earthquake centered in Irving rattled people awake early Thursday but caused no damage, police said.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake hit at 3:21 a.m. near Rochelle Road and North O'Connor Boulevard in North Irving.

People living as far away as Carrollton and Farmers Branch said they felt the shaker.

" Felt like someone was pushing from under the bed," CBS 11 viewer Dennis Nava wrote on the CBSDFW Facebook page.  "Definitely a scary feeling."

Irving Police reported getting a number of calls from people who felt the earthquake, including a dispatcher at police headquarters.  But there were no reports of damage or injuries.

This marks the second North Texas earthquake since Sunday, when a 2.4 magnitude shaker hit about a mile from the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
