DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Sandra Trevino mourns for her 25-year-old son Juan who was murdered in her car in the driveway of the home they were building. "All we ask is that justice be done."
A neighbor heard a gunshot around 2:30 a.m., ran outside and saw three suspects drive away in a dark SUV.
Mrs. Trevino said, "We just know as parents to get the call or somebody coming to your door, a neighbor, a rescue, to say a shooting has happened and it's your son."
The Trevinos ran outside and saw their son unconscious in the car.
His father, Juan Trevino Sr. said, "He wouldn't wake up at all. I tried getting him up, but he wouldn't get up. I could feel him breathing."
Sandra Trevino rode in the ambulance with her son to the hospital.
She described it as "A ride of prayer. The whole way through the gentleman who drove, I could hear my seat belt siren going and going. He never once asked me or interrupted me the whole way through. It was a ride of prayer."
The family's pastors say early this morning Trevino went to make a deposit at a nearby ATM at Northwest Highway and Jupiter Road to make sure he had enough money in his account to make a payment on his motorcycle.
His father didn't want him to go because it was so late. Besides his life, the robbers also stole Trevino's wallet and keys. His murder comes six months after his grandmother passed away.
Trevino's father says, "My mom is right there opening the gate for my son welcoming him into heaven."
The victim's mother says, "We're trusting in the Lord for justice to be done. Not in our time, but in his time."
They are asking anyone who has information about their son's murder to contact Dallas police right away.
