FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - An early morning house fire in Fort Worth has put one man is in the hospital.

According to Fort Worth officials, the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m Wednesday at the home off Andrews Avenue. FWFD Lieutenant Kyle Faulkner says as they were fighting the blaze, they got word that somebody might be trapped.

Faulkner says the man was sleeping with his bedroom door closed, which might have saved his life.

The fire burned half the door, but it was still enough to keep him safe and give firefighters the time they needed to save him.

The man was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation, but should be okay.

A second person treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and should also be fine.

Officials have no word on what started the fire, but Faulkner says as the cold weather arrives, it's important to make sure you're up to date on fire safety.
