Duncanville Cruises To 7th Girls State Crown

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Duncanville used a suffocating full court press to build an insurmountable 24-3 1st quarter lead as the Pantherettes cruised to their 7th girls basketball state championship 69-31 over Spring Dekaney on Saturday night in Austin.

The Pantherettes, led by future Texas Longhorn Empress Davenport's 13 1st half points, built a 41-9 halftime lead.  Duncanville finished the season with a 40-1 record.

Mansfield Summit won its second Class 4A state title in the last four years, 45-42, over Rockwall.  In Class 2A, Brock won its fourth straight state title, 52-49, over Poth.  Kami Cole, a TCU signee, led Brock to the school's 7th state title in the last 11 years.

Texas A&M recruit Peyton Little scored 33 points to lead Abilene Wylie to its second straight Class 3A state championship, 59-45, over Celina.
