Driver Killed After Car Crashes In River, Puppy Survives
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A dog was the only survivor of a car crash in one North Texas city.
Rescue crews in Farmers Branch responded to a report of a car found upside-down in the east fork of the Trinity River. When first responders arrived they dove into the water and found the driver was dead, but a puppy in the car was alive.
Farmers Branch police Sergeant Chad Taylor said it's still unclear how the car ended up in the water. "We haven't determined that yet, being that nobody actually witnessed the vehicle leaving the roadway. It was a passerby that saw the vehicle overturned in the water."
The man who died has yet to be identified.
The puppy is expected to recover.
Police are still investigating the crash.
