Driver Crashes Into Squad Car & Fire Truck

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A woman was detained after a crash that shut down a part of Stemmons Freeway early Wednesday morning. It happened at around 2:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, not far from Royal Lane in Dallas.
Crews with Dallas Fire-Rescue had just finished putting out a car fire when the woman, who was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of her vehicle. Her car hit an inside barrier wall and then careened across the highway to an entrance ramp.
The woman's car then hit another barrier wall and went airborne, striking a Dallas County deputy's squad car and a fire truck in the process. The squad car was hit along the passenger side while the fire truck was struck in the rear.
Amazingly, there were no injuries. The woman in the car was not hurt. The deputy and the driver of the burned out car were standing away from the scene. And no firefighters were injured.
However, the driver of that crashed vehicle was put into the back of a squad car. Officials have not stated if she will face any charges. Her name has not yet been released.
The northbound lanes of the highway had been shut down during this incident, but traffic is running smoothly through the area once again.
