Driver Charged in Connection To I-30 Fatality
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - A woman died on a freeway Saturday night after she was hit by a driver who police say was intoxicated. It is unclear why the woman was walking on the highway. She died at the scene.
Eliazar Rivera, 47, of Grand Prairie, was driving a 1988 Jeep eastbound on I-30 in the right lane, according to police when he struck her.
Police have arrested him in connection with the woman's death. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and is being held in Grand Prairie Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The woman's death was the 16th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year, police said.
