DPS High-Speed Chase Ends With Suspect Crashing
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A high speed chase involving a DPS Trooper and a motorcycle ended with the rider crashing in Northwest Dallas early this morning.
The chase began after 1:00 a.m. with a DPS Trooper spotted and man on a motorcycle going more than 100 mph on the Dallas North Tollway from Mockingbird Lane.
The Trooper gave chase and the suspect left the tollway to go West down Walnut Hill Lane.
Just before Denton Drive the motorcycle driver lost control and went into a skid. The Trooper, trying to avoid striking the man, performed a quick-stop maneuver also put his car into a spin...eventually passing the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider then hit the back of the stopped squad car.
The rider suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to Parkland Hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
The man will face charges of evading arrest.
The DPS Trooper was not hurt.
