WATCH: DPD Shooting Suspect's Armored Van Towed Sunday

HUTCHINS (CBSDFW.COM) — The charred remains of a gunman's online auction purchase was towed Sunday afternoon; nearly thirty-six hours after chaos was unleashed in downtown Dallas.

Suspect James Boulware unleashed several rounds on the Dallas Police Headquarters on Lamar Street -- only after planting bombs outside the building.

The explosives were detonated by police, and the gunman led police on an intense gunfire-riddled pursuit to Hutchins, starting the standoff that became a national news focal point over the weekend.

Boulware bought the armored van just days before the attack. It was described as a "zombie apocalypse assault vehicle" -- purchased on eBay for $8,250.

The van exploded around noon Saturday after authorities detonated two C-4 pipe bombs inside:
