DPD Searching For Men Who Raped Teenage Girl

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas police are investigating the abduction and rape of a 15-year-old girl.

The attack happened Sunday night on Ridgecrest Road, in northeast Dallas.

The teenager was walking through a church parking lot, on her way home, around 10 p.m. The church is across the street from Lowe Elementary School.

According to police, two men who did not know the girl abducted her, drove her to a secluded area nearby and raped her.

There is a Dallas Police security camera just down the street from where the kidnapping took place and detectives are looking through that video for clues.

In addition to Lowe Elementary, Tasby Middle School is also in the area. Parents on both campuses expressed concern after a CBS 11 News crew told them about the assault. Parents say the assault should be a wake up call for the city to address complaints about crime in this neighborhood.

"I think they need to put more police, in the night and the day, especially for the safety of the kids," neighborhood resident Maria Pagen said.

The victim was taken to Children's Medical Center and Parkland Hospital and is now recovering at home.

Investigators with the Dallas Police Department said they are working on getting more information from the victim so they can release a description of the two men and the vehicle they were driving.
