Downtown High Rise Evacuated After Carbon Monoxide Leak

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people were sent to the hospital and an entire building was evacuated after a carbon monoxide leak at a downtown Dallas apartment building.
According to Dallas Fire Rescue, firefighters were called to the building at 511 North Akard after reports of an "unknown odor" forced the residents out.
Firefighters made a sweep of the building about three blocks off Woodall Rogers and found the cause of the noxious fumes was a carbon monoxide leak.
Although the exact location of the leak was not located, CO levels dropped to a safe enough level to let the residents back in. Officials believe it has something to do with the building's HVAC system.
The Red Cross was also called out to assist those residents who might need help.
