DISD Online Surveys Seeking Public's Input

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas Independent School District is conducting two online surveys in an effort to get input from the public.

The first survey is designed to evaluate the district's policies related to decision making, planning and staff development. The focus of the survey is on Site-Based Decision Making committees at the campus and district levels. Districts are required to evaluate these aspects at least every two years, per the Texas Education Code.

The second survey looks at parent involvement policies at the campus and district levels. Questions are related to parental visits to DISD campuses, and look for information about why parents were at the schools and how they were treated. There are also questions about communication efforts made by the individual DISD campuses and the district as a whole. This evaluation is an annual requirement of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Both surveys are available through June 29.
