DISD Investigating If Employees Violated Policy After Ashley Madison Hack

DALLAS (CBS11) - Dallas school employees appear to be among some of the e-mail addresses leaked as part of the Ashley Madison hack. Dallas ISD is now looking to see if any employees violated district policies.

Two email addresses included in the data posted from the affair website don't appear to be connected to current DISD employees. At least three of them, however, do.

The district technology resource policy for staff reads in part, "all users conduct themselves in a professional, responsible, decent, ethical and polite manner"

The policy also instructs staff to report connecting to any potentially offensive material on-line, on purpose or by mistake. Penalties include potentially being fired.

The district sent CBS11 this statement: "Per Board Policy CQ, the Dallas Independent School District requires all students and staff members to conduct themselves in a professional, responsible, decent, ethical and polite manner at all times when using district technology.

It is disappointing if our technology resources have been used in this manner. Anyone found to have violated our rules on appropriate use of technology will be held accountable per our policies."
