DFW Weather: Severe Storms With Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Make Way Through North Texas

(CBSDFW.COM) - Severe thunderstorms made their way through the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Sunday evening with heavy rain and strong winds. Damage and power outages were reported through the evening.

There have been numerous reports of damage throughout North Texas, such as downed trees and power lines.

Oncor reports that about 59,000 are without power in Tarrant County, 16,500 in Dallas County and 5,500 in Denton County.

Lightning was seen throughout the area by our storm chaser Jason McLaughlin.

The Fort Worth Fire Department said it responded to weather-related calls during the storms in regards to power lines and transformers.
