DFW To Grow 65 Percent In 30 Years
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Better make some room! Experts say the percentage of Americans living in metropolitan areas like North Texas are expected to grow by roughly a third over the next three decades.
At this point about 4 out of every 5 people in the country live in large cities like the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Ana Orozco with Global Insight says their computer models predict an even bigger level of growth the years ahead.
Orozco says the reason for the growth is that there are simply more job opportunities in bigger cities. She adds that with more people moving in, there will be a higher demand for housing and infrastructure, which will create even more jobs.
She says states like Texas are going to need a lot more infrastructure to support the population boom that's around the corner.
