DFW-To-Paris Flight Diverted After Unruly Passenger Subdued
DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) - An unruly passenger forced an American Airlines plane from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to make an unexpected stop in Chicago Wednesday night.
Flight 48 was headed to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris when one of the passengers allegedly had too much to drink and became disorderly.
One source told CBS Chicago television station WBBM that the planes crew had to subdue the passenger and place him in 'flexcuffs' until the flight landed at O'Hare International Airport around 8:45 p.m.
Chicago police and airport security took the unidentified passenger off the plane, without incident. No crewmembers or passengers were injured.
It wasn't immediately clear whether the passenger would face criminal charges. Individuals who disrupt airline flights typically face federal charges.
Following the incident, the airliner was refueled and the 187 remaining passengers continued on to France.
