DFW-Bound Flight Makes Emergency Stop In Abilene
ABILENE (AP) - About 100 passengers have resumed their journey after spending the night at a West Texas airport after a jet bound from Los Angeles to DFW International Airport landed with possible engine trouble.
Abilene Regional Airport aviation director Don Green says another American Airlines jet arrived Wednesday morning and picked up the passengers whose flight to DFW had been interrupted.
Green says nobody was hurt as an MD-80, with 112 passengers, made a safe landing around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Green says some passengers from Flight 2468 were transported to hotels, while most spent the night in the terminal.
American Airlines spokeswoman Andrea Huguely told The Associated Press that mechanics will check for a possible issue with an engine. She did not elaborate.
The Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately comment.
