DFW-Bound AA Flight Makes Emergency Landing
EL PASO (AP) - An American Airlines jet bound from Mexico to North Texas has made an emergency landing in El Paso with possible oil-related engine trouble.
A spokesman for Fort Worth-based American says nobody was hurt during the unscheduled landing Sunday night of Flight 864 from Cabo San Lucas.
Tim Smith says the 140 passengers were put on another jet and continued their flight early Monday to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Smith the engine on the right side of the original plane was shut down, as a precaution, when a light indicated a low oil level. He says the MD-80 has been taken out of service for examination.
