DFW Airport Asks Holiday Travelers To Be Early

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busiest air travel times of the year, and officials at DFW International Airport are ready for the crowds. The airport is expecting more than two million passengers throughout the holiday season, and more than 100,000 additional travelers than last year.

The Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving are expected to be the two busiest days.

To prepare for the increase of travelers, airport officials are asking folks to arrive very early. "There is construction at the north end of the airport on the outside due to the DFW Connector. There is also some construction as we are continuing to renovate Terminal E. So, as people come in, we are urging them to get here two and a half hours early," explained airport spokeswoman Cynthia Vega. "We really have plenty of things for them to do once they do arrive and get in and settle in waiting for their flight."

The airport has added some new features for travelers this year including a yoga studio, a walking path for exercise and several indoor playgrounds for children.
