Bryant Hand Injury Could End Season With Cowboys
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Following an emotional weekend that started with the death of Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown and the arrest of Josh Brent the team won a hard fought game against the Cincinnati Bengals - but the bad news continued to spill out of Valley Ranch with the word that WR Dez Bryant is being evaluated for a potentially season ending hand injury.
Sources told 105.3 The Fan that Bryant suffered "severe ligament damage to the index finger on his left hand."
The Cowboys would make a determination on whether Bryant was done for the season after he consulted with a hand specialist Monday. "We don't know the extent of the injury, we are still evaluating that" said Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett at his daily press conference.
Bryant, who is having his best season with 75 catches for 1,028 yards and nine touchdowns, was injured in the fourth quarter of the game but came back in after being evaluated by the medical staff and caught a touchdown.
After the game Bryant had the finger in a splint. "I sprained it,'' Bryant said. "Taped it up, wrapped it up a little bit and just got back out there.''
Bryant has caught at least one touchdown pass in each of the last five games. He finished with four catches for 50 yards in the 20-19 victory over the Bengals.
