Dez Bryant Becomes Cowboys All-Time TD Reception Leader
ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan) - Dez Bryant became the Dallas Cowboys all-time touchdown reception leader when he made a 13-yard catch in the back of the end zone on the opening play of the fourth quarter.
Bryant's 72nd career touchdown reception pushed him past Bob Hayes on the leader board.
Prescott threw the ball up to Bryant and No. 88 leapt over Washington corner Bashaud Breeland to make the catch in patented form.
When asked about it after the game, Bryant was thrilled but also focused on the bigger picture.
"Yeah, it's exciting ... Super exciting ... At the same time, I'm just trying to get into the playoffs," Bryant told 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher.
"I don't know if there's anyone in the history of the league that can high-point the football like he does. He works at it every day," tight end Jason Witten said of Bryant after the Cowboys 38-14 win. "I'm really proud of him, to see him grow and grind it out. I know this year hasn't been perfect for any of us. For him to stay poised and to stay with it, that was a big touchdown.
"He's like a little brother and to see him develop and to make so many of these big time catches, where he just climbs the ladder, he just so passionately goes up and gets the ball. He needed that tonight. He deserved it. (There's) a lot more touchdowns for him to come," Witten added.
It was Bryant's first touchdown grab since he had one against the San Francisco 49ers on October 22.
