Dewhurst, Cruz Cross State In Race's Final Days
SOUTHLAKE, Texas (AP) -- U.S. Senate hopefuls Ted Cruz and David Dewhurst are crisscrossing the state three days before a runoff election for the Republican nomination.
Cruz appeared with former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum at a ranch in the Dallas suburb of Southlake on Saturday. Dewhurst was slated to make several appearances in West Texas.
Both men are trying to energize voters in what's expected to be a low-turnout election.
One day after campaign finance reports showed Dewhurst had loaned his campaign another $8 million, Cruz said he expected "everything that money can buy" to be thrown his way.
Dewhurst, the state lieutenant governor, has loaned his campaign nearly $25 million so far.
