DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Even though the most recent MRI results on Cowboys star QB Tony Romo is showing that his back is healing nicely, the club still has no timetable for his return.

And why would the Cowboys want to rush Romo back on the field when rookie QB Dak Prescott is leading the team to their best winning streak in years?

Team owner Jerry Jones confirmed with The Fan's Shan & RJ show that Romo had an MRI on Monday and that the results "were just as we expected,"  but Jones would not give an answer on when he may return to playing...and it doesn't seem as if he, or the team is worried with Dak Prescott leading charge.

"I think what Dak's success had done is given us the luxury to absolutely maximize any thought we might have of his rehab time," said Jones.

"We've got a great situation here - I just have to pinch myself to think about it," said Jones. "We've got Dak, who is playing at a level that is very capable of winning these games. We've got the optimism every time he walks out there. It's inspiring, it's inspiring this team."

Jones added, "At a position (quarterback) that we've been compromised at in the past, we're entering a time where we are one of the best at the position there is in the NFL."

On the healing process, Jones said Romo, "has no more concern about this injury that has sidelined him this year. The doctors have said, once healed, this injury will have no, going forward, impact on his ability to play football and should be as-strong, or stronger, than it was before the injury."
