DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide at an apartment complex in Denton.

Denton Police Department Public Information Officer Ryan Greeley said a call came in around 9:35 Tuesday morning. "We received a 911 call to respond out to the 400 block of Bernard. The caller stated that they'd heard several gunshots."

The call sent police to the The Oaks Apartments where officers found a man dead of a gunshot wound. A woman was also found inside the apartment, with at least one gunshot wound. Greeley said, "The female was transported by the Denton Fire Department to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital, due to gunshot wounds."

Police say everything points to the incident being a murder-suicide, but they are still investigating and don't know yet how the whole thing started.

Police are also unsure which person was the shooter and have not located the weapon used.
