Denton PD Searching For 'Polite Robber' Who Robbed Dollar Store

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Denton Police are searching for a man who they say "got more than a dollar" during a robbery of a dollar store.

According to department spokesman Ryan Grelle, on May 11 the suspect –– dubbed by Denton Police in a release as the 'Polite Robber' –– entered the Dollar General at 1626 W. University Dr. and flashed the handle of a handgun he had jammed in his waistband while standing in front of a clerk.

The employee told the man she couldn't open the safe –– that's OK, the suspect replied, saying "just give me what was in the cash drawer of the register," Grelle says.

The clerk followed the man's request. He then offered a "have a nice day" and fled the business on foot.

The man, pictured above, is between 5'10'' and 6'' with a "medium build." He was last seen wearing a black V-neck shirt on top of a white undershirt, black sunglasses and a black and white checkered beanie.

Know this man? Grelle says to contact Det. Dan Conrad at 940.349.7993.
