Denton Murder-Suicide Attempt Leaves Wife In Intensive Care
AUBREY (CBSDFW.COM) - A Denton County woman is in intensive care after being shot by her husband in an attempted murder-suicide near Aubrey on Sunday night.
Deputies responded to a 911 hangup call at 11:17 p.m. in the 1300 block of Oakcrest. When deputies arrived, they hear gunshots inside the residence.
Inside the home, a 50-year-old man was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound with a handgun, according to the Denton County Sheriff's office.
The woman was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was CareFlited to Parkland Medical Center.
A 23-year-old mentally disabled daughter of the injured woman was also present at the residence and was unharmed. She has been placed in the custody of family members.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. A motive has not yet been discovered.
