Denton Firefighters Fight Proposed Cost-Cutting Move
A cost-cutting move that's being discussed in Denton is being blasted by some firefighters. The city is considering a plan that would cut more than 400 thousand dollars from the upcoming budget. Instead of four firefighters, three engines would only have three at any given time.
Such a reduction concerns Denton Firefighter's Association President Mike Tucker, and now his group is fighting back. Tucker says they've already met with council members to express their concerns that the plan would compromise public safety. The final budget will be approved in the coming weeks.
