Debate Hopes Dimming
The prospects of a gubernatorial debate before the November election look pretty bleak at this point. Governor Perry is sticking by his demand that Democrat Bill White release tax records from when he was serving in the Clinton administration and says not doing so is suspicious. "I suggest there's something there or he would have already laid them out and said look at them right here." White says this is just an excuse not to debate on the part of Perry. He says he is ready to go. "I'll be happy to debate Governor Perry in many different formats in many different cities." White says if Perry wants that kind of information bad enough he could just go get the Financial Disclosure Forms he had to fill out while working for the Federal Government.
