Pair Wanted In Deadly Grand Prairie Hit-And-Run Caught

UPDATE: The two suspects are in custody Monday night.

Grand Prairie Police said Michael Sanchez was located by officers in the 1500 block of Glynn Oaks in Arlington around 6:00 p.m. He jumped from a car he was spotted in and ran off.

Multiple officers from the Grand Prairie and Arlington Police departments were in the area and Sanchez was quickly located and taken into custody.

Around 7:00 p.m. Jesica Mosqueda was located by Grand Prairie police officers at a home in the 3200 block of W Division St. in Arlington and was arrested without incident.

Mosqueda, the passenger in the car during the  hit-and-run, was released from custody and will not be charged.

Michael Sanchez is in the Grand Prairie Police Detention Center with bond set at $500,000.

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - A Grand Prairie woman waiting for a friend to arrive to help with a flat tire was struck and killed on westbound IH-30 at the Belt Line Rd exit in Grand Prairie early Sunday.

Police said the victim's vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder of the freeway with a flat tire around 3:55 a.m.

The driver, Troylynn Berkley, 29, had called a friend for help and was waiting near the back of the vehicle when she was struck by a Dodge Charger that had drifted onto the shoulder.

The mother of two died at the scene.

The Dodge Charger collided with the back of the victim's Suzuki, causing it to overturn in the median between the freeway and the exit ramp.

Both people allegedly inside the Dodge ran off.  They've been identified as Michael Sanchez, 23 and Jesica Mosqueda, 20.

Warrants for failure to stop and render aid have been issued for their arrests. This charge is a Felony of the 2nd Degree, punishable for between 2 and 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

This is the eighth traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this year.

On Monday night, family and friends of Berkley gathered outside the hotel in Dallas where she worked to honor her memory.
