DALLAS (CBS11 SPORTS) - In her rookie season on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading squad, Claire is truly living the hometown dream.
Graduating from Richardson High School and then from Texas A&M with a degree in environmental studies, Claire tried out for the team four years ago, only to come up short.
Four years later, she's set to cheer on America's Team during the annual Thanksgiving Day game.
During her time away from dance, Claire lived abroad, seeing several different sites in Europe, and was even a nanny in Austria. She says those 4 years helped her mature…see more life…and now she's able to contribute more than if she had made the team on her first try.
Seeing her swap childhood memories with her mother Melanie, father Steve, and sister Julia, is a realization that her dream has come true.
Claire's mom says she's an inspiration to other young ladies who have high hopes and live in this area. Claire's father says knowing what she went through to get on the team makes him believe she can accomplish anything.
Claire is also an environmental consultant. Her job is to research residential and commercial properties, often reviewing age old maps, to determine that state of the property, and even what existed before there was a building there.
Claire says she hopes her life is an example that being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader requires women to be extremely well rounded, and describes the overall experience as "amazing."
