Daughter Killed In Wrong-Way Crash, Parents Mourn

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - "I love you" were the last words Sabrina Fernandez parent's heard from her.

Police said another driver was going the wrong way on I-30, causing the violent crash.

Sabrina Fernandez was 6 months pregnant and she was excited for motherhood.

She had already named the baby girl in her womb, Leticia.

"She was our only and going to be our first grand baby. She didn't see this coming," said a sad Sabrina's mother Donna.

For the parents that raised Sabrina from the time she was 2 months old Christmas will never be the same.

"I'm just speechless right now. I'm hurting a lot," said Tommy Davila the victim's father.

Sabrina and her unborn child would not survive this violent wreck. The mangled cars are hard to distinguish.

Sabrina was behind the wheel of a 2001 Infiniti. Her 17 year-old boyfriend, Tanner Gable, and another woman were passengers in the car.

While Traveling on I30, Fort Worth police said a wrong way driver, 22 year-old, Samantha Goud, would slam head on into the victim's car.

Goude was driving a 93 Dodge Intrepid. Witnesses reported seeing the wrong way driver near Henderson Street and I30

Police were responding to those calls, but 3 miles east tragedy happened.

"We haven't been able to establish if alcohol was a factor yet. We'll have to wait to get toxicology reports on driver of dodge," said Fort Worth PD Captain Scott Conn.

Goude's family showed up at the scene of the crash. In a statement they said, "Both families are in tremendous grief.

Our heart goes out to the families of the victims. This is the worst time you can experience anything like this."

The Goude family said they are waiting for the investigation to find out what happened.

"The last words were I love you mom and dad she gave me a kiss on the cheek and I said I love you too," said Tommy

"We have not been able to establish if alcohol was a factor we have to wait till we get toxicology reports on driver of the Dodge," said Fort Worth Police Captain Scott Conn.

The victim's family wants to bury their daughter in Lubbock, the place where she was born.
