Daughter Arrested For Elderly Dad's Murder

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Grand Prairie have identified an elderly murder victim. A woman is in jail facing a murder charge for allegedly killing her 90-year-old father, now identified as Robert Hughes.
Police were called to a home in the 1900 block of Westminster Drive at around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The 911 caller told police that she had just shot a family member and would surrender when officers arrived.
Authorities found the elderly victim dead from a gunshot wound and took his daughter into custody. Her name has not yet been released.
The victim's elderly wife was also inside of the house when the shooting incident happened.
Police explained that this case is still under investigation, as detectives continue to comb over evidence and try to piece together exactly what happened before the shooting.
